WoooHoooo!!!! First pic.took forever to load...think it has something to do with the file size. any hints from my tech-ie mates?
This is the pictorially famous Valparaiso house. Perched on the side of a cliff like a nightmare. The rectangular type object with the sun rays painted on it is one of many Ascensors that climb the steep hills of this World Heritage city.
The city is mad crazy colourful cool.
There are no trendy browns, shades of bloody browns here.
Streets full of houses painted in every colour imaginable.
A hot burned orange, lime green, a vincent type yellow, lavender and sky blues. Unashamedly Colour!
The picture does not capture the sounds and smells. Cars and micro buseswith blaring horns, people hawking goods on the streets, exhaust fumes and ancient drains.
It hummms.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, all looks good sister!!!! xx
ReplyDeleteKia ora sister! its all go here. am using your book a lot, good maps for the regions, some handy hints, and some names of Hostels...for when i arrive in a town at 1.30am. talk about adrenalin... xxxx
DeleteHola Yaya,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear of your experiences, much appreciated when one is sitting in ones bed on a bitterly cold winters day and it's tipping down outside. I wrote this big long response before, saying I was enjoying the sun, but now it's gone. Ah well, I have the day off, fantastic.
I have called grandma and read out your news. A lot of your message will have been lost in translation, I have had to improvise so I apologise miss blogger. She is happy to hear what you've been up to. She wonders how your accomodation is and if you have been able to get veggie meals? Actually that's my question. It's probably for the best that you are veggitarian, some of those poor dogs may end up on the menu. It does happen people, don't shoot the messenger. Beans are our friends.
I could eat Mexican food all week. I know you're not in Mexico, but funny how you think the food would be similar. However, China and Japan are geographically pretty close...
All that food talk is making me hungry, I've got Bircher muesli soaking, yum. Henry loves it too. That's all I've got, weather and food talk. So I'm living vicariously. I want to know it all!!
Love you lots, Red, Henry, Scooby, Beany and Buddy (in order of appearance) Buddy/AKA the knitted twin of yours. Has taken on a life of his own, he's Henry's younger brother and he's magic you know, growing to a real boy size when nobody is around and he can fix things that need fixing. Scooby thinks he's a stick and behaves accordingly :( He has got a lot of stories, he wanted to go to Auckland with Henry this weekend so Henry has let him go with him, they are very excited! Although Henry did draw the line about taking him to school when Buddy sneaked into his backpack...Thanks to you and Pop, the saga continues :) I will keep you updated. Ciaou xoxoxoxo
Hola mi hermana. good to hear from you. don't want to spoil your winter, but I'm in the Vicuna library in a shirt soaking up the almost tropical warmth. perfecto. i have Kez looking after my little knitted buddy, that and Ted. she has taken over the talisman and will talk to it often.
ReplyDeletehave my last night in Vicuna tonight, have to make a decision where to head, or how far to go, in the next leg. will keep heading north, Antofagasta and San Pedro de Atacama, the desert. have to work out which way i head in/over to Argentina. Via Bolivia or Chile...if there is that pass from San Pedro and not just a glitch on the map...Google of course will help.
Vicuna is muy bien, so tranquil compared to the madness of Santiago and Valparaiso. But, of course it is only a smidge the size of those citys. Have so sign out and find el bano...the loo, not as easy as it sounds. Hi to grandma
xoxoxox
Hiya!
DeleteYep, Ted and Lil Alice are looking over my shoulder as I read of your Adventures, they're ensconced in a cosy velvet chair now, guarded by the Horned Jester.
Great to hear your loving every bit of it!
Love from us in the Chilly South!
Kez XOXOXOX
